Robert Durkee

President

ROBERT DURKEE is the President of Ecomass Technologies, a manufacturer of thermoplastic composite materials used in defense, medical, automotive, sporting goods, and consumer appliances. Durkee earned a degree in Mechanical Engineering from the University of Alabama and has been issued 12 U.S. and international patents relating to composite materials as well as 2 utility patents for injection molded thermoplastic parts.

Durkee serves as President of the Governor’s Hill Condominium Association Board of Directors, and the Parkstone Office Center Board of Directors.  He is a Past-Chairman of the Barton Creek Country Club Board of Governors, Past-President of the Barton Creek MGA Board of Directors, and Past-President of the Eanes ISD Board of Trustees, having served on that Board for 12 years.

He has lived in Austin for 35 years and has been married (Jill) for 41 years.  They have two children (Sarah and Rob) and four grandchildren.

Brian Sbrocco

Vice President

Brian is a Hospitality Executive/Entrepreneur for over twenty years.  He currently serves as CEO for ABOVE Vacation Residences, Managing Partner for TEAMINGS, and Managing Partner for BridgeOne Partners.  He also was an Executive for Global Hyatt Corporation for over 13 years. 

Brian was born in Ohio, but has lived in Minnesota, Arizona, California, Hawaii, and Nevada.  Brian and his family first came to Austin in 2004 tasked to build the Hyatt Lost Pines.  While under construction, their family fell in love with Texas, and decided to never leave.  He hopes his tenure on the Board brings a keen opinion of bridging the needs of service and value to owners, while championing individual property rights.  

Brian has served on several boards- including two other HOA Boards, and a school board.  His family belongs to Austin Ridge, travels extensively, and involved with many charities locally and throughout the US.  He is married to his wife Margo for over 25 years, and together raised three boys (Kalae, Blake and Trevor) in Westlake.

Cathy Burden, Ph.D.

Secretary

CATHY BURDEN is a retired educator with more than forty years of experience as an educational psychologist and school district administrator.  Upon moving to Texas after nineteen years as Superintendent of Union Public Schools in Tulsa, Oklahoma, she has continued to be engaged in education issues as a consultant and board member of the E3 Alliance.  Cathy earned bachelor’s and master’s degrees from The University of Oklahoma and a Ph.D. with Honors from Oklahoma State University.  She is a licensed psychologist and has served as an adjunct professor for OU and OSU.  She has been recognized as the Oklahoma Administrator of the Year and was awarded the Oklahoma Medal of Excellence Award by the Oklahoma Foundation for Excellence. 

Cathy has served on the boards of many professional and community organizations in addition to working collaboratively with a Board of Education to expand opportunities and develop a culture of excellence.

Upon retirement in 2013, Cathy and her husband Ron, who have been married 55 years, moved to Texas to be closer to their two daughters – Allison in Westlake and Christina in Boerne.  Being an integral part of their four grandchildren’s lives has been a joy – from volunteering in elementary classes to attending their fine arts and athletic events. 

Anne Drinkwater

Treasurer

ANNE DRINKWATER is the Deputy Chair of Equinor ASA, a Norwegian energy company, and Senior Independent Director at Balfour Beatty PLC, which is a UK/US engineering and construction company. After graduating from Brunel University London, Anne spent almost 40 years in the oil and gas business. On an assignment to Houston in the early 90’s Anne met Jim Collier, they have now been married for 30 years.

After working in many different countries, Anne and Jim returned to Jim’s native Texas and moved to Austin to be close to their daughter Amy and their two grandchildren. Their son, Kevin lives in Houston.

Anne has served on the board of a County sports association as Treasurer in England; this is the first time Anne has served on the board of a COA.
